Whereas the master plan defines a future vision of the facilities, including departmental square footage, functional adjacencies, and potential location within the facility, the implementation strategy identifies the sequence of events needed to successfully implement the master plan, accounting for interdependencies between the changes, such as move and construction cause / effect relationships, and everyday operations that need to be maintained. The implementation strategy links the master plan to the construction schedule and budget, minimizing wasted resources and impact on business operations.
